Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has confirmed that he will leave Barcelona when his contract expires in 2014. 31-year-old player is touted with a move to AS Monaco's club, said he suffered immense pressure when defending Barcelona, is the main reason for leaving the club.
"There's a lot of pressure, and the demand that Barca always wins a heavy burden on my shoulders," said Valdes.
Valdes has strengthened the Barcelona first team since 12 years ago and he will perform his 500th for the club earlier this month. However, he rejected a new contract offer in January, and is now committed to leaving the club to pursue "sources of motivation are different".
"I consider that my cycle as a Barcelona player will end when my contract ends in 2014," he said.
"There are still about 18 months for the club and the players to find the best solution, so Barca can still prevail, so can I," he added.
Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, who had played in Barcelona and played for the youth team 30 times its main-touted as a potential replacement for Valdes the Barcelona goalkeeper.
